Masks protect both you and the community. When we all wear masks, we take care of each other. Remember, masks should be worn over the nose and mouth.
If you are visiting friends and family, or need to go out for things like groceries, remember to keep a distance of 6 feet between yourself and others whenever possible (this is about 2 arms' lengths away). Remember to avoid crowds whenever possible. Tip! Take advantage of senior hours at grocery stores.
Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in public, and/or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with 0% alcohol.
In general, the more people you interact with, the more closely you interact with them, and the longer that interaction, the higher your risk of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. Before you go out, consider the following:
For routine checkups and minor illnesses or injuries, take advantage of the telehealth options available to you. Providers can conduct visits by video so you can avoid traveling to the doctor’s office. If you don’t have access to video-chat technology (like a smart phone), visits can be done over the phone.
